Logline: A group of scientists attempt to capture a prehistoric monster that lurks in the Amazon river.
Review: Jack Arnold’s Creature from the Black Lagoon features the Gill Man, one of Universal’s late additions to its vault of classic monsters. Creature is a B movie filled with cheesiness and bad acting. Despite this, the film still has its charm, due to its true star, the Gill Man. He is a fascinating character in his own right. One of the film’s best scenes occurs when Kay (Julie Adams) takes an afternoon swim, oblivious to the fact that the curious monster is watching from beneath her.
